Audra Mcdonald is a standout in her breadth of talent and her versatility in her roles as a performer and singer. Audra McDonald, winner of six Tony Awards in a row and two Grammy Awards in 2015 was recognized as one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People. The president Barack Obama also awarded her the National Medal of Arts -the highest honor in America for excellence in this area. McDonald, who earned an Emmy Award nomination in 1999, for her role on the HBO adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Wit directed and starring Emma Thompson, made her return on the network's air in 2003 with the drama about politics Mister Sterling. The film was written and produced by Emmy Award-winning Lawrence O'Donnell Jr. Early in 2006, she joined WB's The Bedford Diaries. The next year she was an actor in NBC's Kidnapped. McDonald's character in HBO movie Lady Day At Emerson Bar Restaurant earned the actress a fourth Emmy nomination in the year 2016. She starred alongside Taylor Schilling and Steven Pasquale in The Bite a six-episode pandemic-themed show co-produced through Spectrum Originals and CBS Studios in 2021. The actress first appeared in the role of U.S. attorney Liz Lawrence in the year 2009 on CBS's legal comedy The Good Wife in 2018 McDonald reprised her character (now known as Liz Reddick) as a season-long regular on The Good Fight on Paramount+ receiving three Critics Choice Award nominations for her performance. Presently, she is appearing as a guest on Julian Fellowes' historical drama The Gilded Age, which premieres on HBO.
